I hope you're right, Danno. I was a fan of Toon when we drafted him. He just hasn't shown me anything, so far. Hope he proves me wrong.

In 2013 our O always seemed to be a step behind. Sproles and Moore were nonexistent for much of the season. The receivers couldn't get separation and Brees didn't have time in the pocket to wait. The result was 37 sacks.

Looking at 2014, by position the Saints may field the fastest receiving corp in the NFL.

When the Saints drafted Toon, a buddy from WI's first two words were "Good Luck." His thought the Saints would have a hard time keeping him on the field. Always one nagging injury after another at WI. His opinion was he wasn't tough enough for the NFL.

Looks like he he has been dead on so far. Considering the big catches that he didn't make last year, I have a feeling Toon's days could be numbered.

Not to be a jerk but comparing toons highlight tape to Coleman's is
embarrassing ...

The first two plays are plays we'd never see out of toon , he's a catch and fall kinda guy

Thus guy though at 6"6 can move , imagine a Marques Colston that can burn people ...

Plus this guy seems to catch better with 1 arm than toon could with 3

Thanks. Coleman reminds me of a younger, faster Colston. Another good candidate for the Saints free agent to stating NFL receiver factory.

It may boil down to team chemistry. Payton and Loomis are big on the character thing. If a player doesn't fit, it doesn't seem to matter how much talent they have.

Re: Hype Reel: Brandin Cooks is ABSURD

There are some negatives with this guy for sure.
Bra don Coleman Negatives

Hands are a question mark, but many of his drops came on balls that were off the mark that he failed to properly adjust to.

Seemed to frequently not be on the same page as his quarterbacks in terms of timing and depth of routes, but it's difficult to assign blame to the receiver or quarterback without knowing the exact design of the play.

Surprisingly inefficient against press coverage.
He has the strength to fight off press coverage, but lacks the burst to pull away when he wins the physical battle.

Speed is adequate, but he's slow off the snap and takes quite a few steps to really get moving.

Has the size to break tackles, but otherwise doesn't provide much of a threat after the catch.

Lacks the speed and athleticism to lose defensive backs in man coverage.

Every reception is contested because he can't break free from man coverage.

Considering his size, his catch radius is relatively small due to a lack of agility in short bursts.

Struggles to adjust to poorly placed balls on shorter routes, which limits his effectiveness as a possession receiver.

Too hesitant as a blocker.

Needs to realize he has the size to be a dominant blocker, even without perfect technique, and become more aggressive.
