this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I don\'t understand it. Why can\'t the team negotiate with Haslett and Brooks at the same time? At least keep everyone happy. I think they dropped the ball when they started announcing who was a priority or not. I blame ...

Aaron's holdout

I don\'t understand it. Why can\'t the team negotiate with Haslett and Brooks at the same time? At least keep everyone happy. I think they dropped the ball when they started announcing who was a priority or not. I blame Loomis, but Mueller did this also but I think for different reasons. Mueller was trying to tell Joe Horn he would be put last on list if he tried to force a better contract. I just don\'t see why they can\'t keep negotiations ongoing and make everyone happy, and keep their mouths shut on who is a priority.

Aaron's holdout

My guess would be why things are announced and players are hyped is all relatively simple , Fans.

Ticket sales are down , give the fans something to get excited about .
Having trouble getting state help , give them a bone to chew on that might make them believe fans from outside the Louisianna area might come to New Orleans , say a caravan to a different state or country .

Donte Stallworths reports may have read a little differently if season ticket sales were sold out . Fans are not interested in watching their hero\'s go to other team , so announce that they will all be resigned . The order might be based upon popularity ??? Does anyone care if the third stringer is resigned ??? But the head coach !!!

I will stick to cussing when they do nothing and are content to wallow in mediocrity , not when they try or announce they are going to try ....
