Doesn't mean anything; Place him on the PUP list because he is not ready to practice during training camp, we already knew this. I believe he doesn't use a roster spot until off the PUP list

Its not like he's got to sit out or anything, reports are he's been running and conditioning, like they said - just frees up a roster spot whilst training camp goes on, he'll be ready

As long as he is 100% when he takes the field. No need to rush back after surgery and make things worse.

In his press conference today, he(Payton) said he sees Byrd off the PUP before they leave W. Virginia

No surprise, no big deal. It's more important for him to get the learning the defense part of it down anyway.
