WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. -- The "Jimmy Graham rule" went into effect for the first time Saturday during the New Orleans Saints' scrimmage.
Graham couldn't resist following up a touchdown pass from quarterback Luke McCown with one of his trademark dunks over the goalpost -- a celebration that will be illegal beginning this season. Jimmy Graham will have to find an alternate touchdown celebration, as his trademark dunk over the goalpost will be illegal beginning this season. And since a crew of NFL officials was on hand to call the scrimmage, Graham promptly drew a flag -- which promptly drew a chorus of boos from fans in attendance. It was all in good fun. But unfortunately for Graham, the NFL is indeed serious about banning the TD celebration. Read more: Jimmy Graham of New Orleans Saints flagged for dunk - ESPN |

Re: The Jimmy Graham Rule
I see where they're coming from with this... Graham messed it up for everyone with his bending of the posts in Atlanta. The game delay to fix them got old real fast

Re: The Jimmy Graham Rule
I don't see why they had to ban the whole celebration because it happened ONE time. Just fine the player and add a delay of game penalty.

Re: The Jimmy Graham Rule
I hope he forgets that he was a basketball player and becomes a real football player. If he could run block and break tackles like a 260lb man should be able to he could be one of the best players in NFL history and win one or more league MVP titles.

Re: The Jimmy Graham Rule
Ok thats not fair. I know the MVP award is stat driven. And I said run blocking and breaking tackles. Basically Id like to see Jimmy play with an attitude like Mike Ditka, Mark Bavaro or even Jeremy Shockey. If Graham could run over CBs who he outweighs by 50lbs or more in many occasions who knows how many receiving yards he could add up.
