Injuries, losses painful for Saints star running back

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- It's been a bad year for Deuce McAllister.

The New Orleans Saints running back has had to contend with injuries and with losses which have hurt even more.

The Saints planned their version of the West Coast Offense around McAllister, counting on his ability to grind out yards to keep the football in their hands and the march to the goal line steady. Instead, they have fallen behind in game after game and had to turn to the pass in a usually futile effort to catch up.

No one has suffered more than McAllister.
