Saints 2014 Roster Moves: Put in Waiver for Seahawks RT Michael Bowie
Saw this on a sports e-mail I received about the Saints; it was from a Saints fan site that will go un-named.
___________________________________________________________ Unfortunately, The Browns had priority, but this does raise the question, why?!?! It was tweeted during the scrimmage yesterday, that Marcel Jones, who remained in, was limping. Could this have led to a perceived question of depth, on the O-line. So we go after another player who was waived/injuried. Probably would have been just another camp body, but it does raise some interesting questions. Ben Grubbs has yet to participate in training camp. Sean Payton assures us it's nothing to be concerned about, so of course, some of us are concerned. While we do have a seeming abundance at other positions, like Safeties, we do have limited options, when our key players on the O-line go down. We only have to think back to last season to see the effects, of not being able to protect Drew, adequately. The pickings available out there are real slim, so I can understand why, the team would take a shot at a waived player. |

Loomis and co. makes sure that every rock and crook gets searched. Sometimes a player just needs a change of scenery.

I agree that the fact we are looking is a bit unsettling.
At least it was for someone worthwhile, which probably means he was going to be more than a camp body |

I don't think it says anything about our starters, we've always done this at nearly every position. We probably had a high grade on him and want to see if he can be developed down the line. I wouldn't read anything into other than he may be competing for depth.

Dude comes to mini-camp fat knowing he is fighting Justin Britt for a roster spot and is warned, does nothing about it and comes to training camp fat. You guys don't want or need a player with that mindset. Be grateful he is banished to Cleveland (keep in mind that this was done knowing the Seahawks were also think at right tackle).
