Good read.

Andy Tanner has been with the Saints longer than any player on the defense besides Junior and Robinson.

Pulling Rod Harper out of the air, now that's obscure. Of course, they are missing the Jamaal Branch and PJ Hill Tiers.

I wonder if Onome Ojo has any idea how legendary he has become among Saints fans.

But that’s okay. If the 6-4 Toon fails to become the next Marques Colston, the 6-6 Brandon Coleman probably will. As evidence I present to you his happy hype article2, and also the Charleston Gazette quoted Marques Colston raving about Coleman:

“This is the first time we’ve had a receiver where I’ve felt like I’m looking in the mirror,” said Colston of Coleman. “He’s definitely been a guy that’s come out here and worked every day. He’s really picked things up well. I’m really looking forward to him getting on the field and showing what he can do. [Nick Toon is a guy] that just continues to work. He’s definitely poised to take that next step.”

A few things: That’s a lot of words from Marques Colston; most of what he says is just the usual positive team-first football language stuff that players are trained to use but which really doesn’t mean anything; Colston also mentions Nick Toon there at the end, but I’m ignoring that; and that very first phrase, the bit about “looking in the mirror,” is the only truly interesting part of the quote. It’s something close to an actual opinion of Marques’s, something that’s almost not filtered through the lens of the official interview.

It’s enough to put a guy on #TeamColeman

wow that is a lot coming from Coloston

Colston praise is definitely worth noting. He doesn't speak much but when he does its usually relevant.

Poor Tanner. Felt bad for him when he got that final cut last year.

i just get this feeling he will be around. the shock keeper of 2014? SP just keeps bring the guy back multiple times each and every year. there has to be something there he really thinks he can work with.
