The Forgotten Man: Saints NT Brodrick Bunkley

Brodrick Bunkley is the one veteran on the defensive line that gets no love from either the fans or the media, when it comes to getting his name in the headlines or earning praise and adulation for his on-field performance. Even though he hasn’t been the “brute force” that the Saints were hoping for when they signed him in 2012, he actually began playing his best football during the second half of last season. Now it appears that he’s started 2014 where he left off last year, and looks to be refreshed and refocused — and ready to make folks remember “The Forgotten Man”.

"A Veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount of "up to and including my life."

I remember him playing great in run defense when he came back from his injury, its nice to have a solid rotation so there is no dropoff if someone gets injured - when bunkley went down, John Jenkins came in and played great

It's not forgotten that he took a literal pay cut, not just a restructure.

I didn't realize he had played so poorly. He is apparently only motivated by competition.

Re: The Forgotten Man: Saints NT Brodrick Bunkley

I haven't forgotten about him and that's a stupid, ill-informed article. Bunkley has been one of the better nose tackles in the league for a few years now. To call him a bust because he doesn't put up big sack numbers and tackle numbers is freaking ignorant. Ask yourself how Cam Jordan and Junior Galette were getting all those sacks last year. And I like John Jenkins but he is definitely the second-best player in the 2-man NT rotation.

As an ACTUAL member of the media I am offended by sites like Fansided, Yardbarker, Bleacher Report, etc. They're fakers. There's no work involved there, no research. They don't support their suppositions with any kind of relevant facts, quotes from interviews and half the time the premise of the story doesn't make any sense. It makes me made that there are actual professional members of the media out there busting their butts and abiding by journalistic principle to get the story right, but people don't buy the newspaper or watch the local TV sports news, but they do read crap like Fansided which any half-retard with an internet connection can write for and then claim to be a "member of the media."

Bunkley also has seven more seasons on Jenkins, and Jenkins was a rookie. But Jenkins was great for being a rookie NT when his name was called to start

He is important in the Saints rotation. Especially with Jenkins being out. Does the dirty work.
