New Orleans Saints' Vinnie Sunseri makes impact vs. Titans | Rookie Watch
1 Attachment(s)
Here's how some of the New Orleans Saints' rookies fared vs. the Tennessee Titans during their 31-24 win Friday night at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
S Vinnie Sunseri Sunseri burnished his reputation as a hard hitter, made a huge interception and played well on special teams. Three weeks into camp, Sunseri's spot on the roster appears increasingly secure. CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste He played as many snaps as anyone on the defense, and was frequently under fire. He was credited with a fumble recovery on an interception that he nearly batted away. QB Logan Kilgore He got only a seven-minute stint, but coaches still gave him an opportunity to throw. He's not in the backup race, but Kilgore has gotten more confident after three weeks in camp. He was 2-of-3 for 28 yards (longest pass was 17 yards) with a 96.5 rating. LB Khairi Fortt He left and didn't return after suffering a leg injury in the first half. Fortt had been playing well in camp, and an injury would be an unfortunate setback. WR Seantavius Jones Jones caught an unusual touchdown that he tipped and then caught again. A defensive pass interference flag on the play was declined. Sunseri looked great. He's a white Kenny Vaccarro. They are similar size, speed and playing style. He is quite possibly a future starter.

He also limped off after the Mettenberger hit. He was actually jogging off. Looked minor but you never know.

Hokie was laughing at that. He hit Meettenberger hard and it wasn't Mettenberger who limped off.

No idea who this dude was when we drafted him with a 5th round pick. Complained a bit considering it wasn't a "sexy" pick. Then I read up on the boy, and got a bit excited about our 5th round non-sexy pick. Then he comes out last night and gets a tackle for a loss, a pass break-up, and a very sexy pick. See what I did there? Liking our safeties and our safety depth...haven't seen that in a long time with this team.

He's my new favorite dark horse. Guy balls and has a hell of a motor. Seems to fit in well with teammates too.
