Greer
What is the word on him? I know he was cut, but if no one has picked him up and he shows he can still perform do you see it as a possibility we could pick him up later like Predator? I know we are stacked but you can never have too many DBs. He would be a nice cheap option a phone call away if someone like Lewis went down.
I don't expect to much out of Champ as far as starting. |
Re: Greer
With the possibility of carrying a 3rd QB I don't see making room with as much depth as we have.

Re: Greer
Yeah, leaves us in a very curious spot.
I don't see us carrying 3 QBs and I don't want to cut Griffin what I have seen so far. But you know someone is going to pick up Luke in our Division to pick his brain about our play book. |

Re: Greer
He's 32 with a very serious knee injury; doubt he'll ever be able to return. And who knows if he even wants to...
|
Re: Greer
He's been on ESPN 1st Take. Doubt he has any intention to come back.

Re: Greer
Greer played exceptionally and was easily the best corner we have had.

Re: Greer
I suspect that there are at least a couple of teams who have Greer on their radar and have his # on speed dial, in case somebody else goes down...he could certainly come in a la Mike McKenzie in '09.
But for the time being (a) Greer is at that age where (like a Favre or DeMarcus Ware type guy) he doesn't really *need* to do training camp anymore -- anything he would learn is just names of stuff he already knows, in the playbook. So any team that wants to pick him up, can do so cheaply later on (well, cheaply meaning vet minimum). (b) I get the impression (from reading tea leaves and studying the innards of a rooster, LOL) that Greer is certainly interested to come back to the NFL, but he's not exactly out there groveling, or crying or pleading with any old team out there to pick him up and take him. He's had ten great years. He's comfortable. He's pretty much done rehabbing and he's happy. So he doesn't want to go somewhere just for the sake of being on a roster somewhere....if he plays, it will be on his terms, as a contributor to a team, not out of desperation or hanging on to fading glory. I think the Jets might actually be the ones who take a look at him. They are having real problems at corner right now. |
