Mark Ingram thinks he is an every-down running back for the Saints
When Mark Ingram said earlier this offseason that he wanted to become an every-down running back for the Saints, he didn’t mean he was working to hone his skills to meet such a skill set this season.
Ingram on Monday explained that he feels he’s already there. “If you watch our film, I think most teams feel like when I’m in the game, it’s going to be... run or play-action,” said Ingram, a fourth-year pro. I don't blame him for feeling that way, especially given his improvement since late last year, but except for 06 it's always been a three-way split at RB. He would have to be Adrian Peterson-level amazing to convince Payton otherwise, and maybe not even then.

He is. Until he gets turf toe.
Seriously though Streif sings his praises and said that his biggest problem was the Oline not doing their job. True or not I think that was a stand up thing for him to say. |

And if we're gonna cite statistics, let's look at total yards from scrimmage per season, rushing yards per season in how long he's been here?!? Want to see more production and less talking... When Cooks came out and said he wanted to win Rookie of the Year at the Draft Extravaganza, I rolled my eyes; but, he's backed his game up in the short time he's been on-board... Ingram hasn't earned the cred to run his mouth and should play and have a cup of STFU until then... |
