Welcome aboard. As far as food goes, follow your nose. I do this when I go to New Orleans and end up eating 3 breakfasts, 5 lunches, & 4 suppers in a day. I would recommend that.

WWII Museum is a good daytime visit. ACME's is good place but I much prefer Drago's char-broiled oysters. Central Grocery for muffulettas is a good choice also. Night time hand grenades in the quarter gets you feeling good.Kind of hard to find a bad place to eat. There's a pretty good tailgate party at Rouses Supermarket behind the Dome towards the river also the area where we frequent between Loyola and Rampart there's a place called Allegros that has DJ and drinks outside that's pretty good. Then you can go to the overpriced Champions Square on your way to the Dome. Enjoy your stay and Welcome Aboard.

For food, just find some hole-in-the-wall place. To heck with all the "name" places. They're fine, but seriously, just pick some place that looks like it's filled with locals and go there. You won't be sorry.

Take it from a guy who does it a lot.

Saturday:
Lunch at Peche. Donald Link is a James Beard Award-winning Chef. Sit at the oyster bar in back. Order the Smoked Grouper, Hush Puppies and Tuna Crudo.
Dinner at Domenica. John Besh's Italian concept inside the Roosevelt Hotel. Fresh house-made pastas, shared plates that you'll love.
Have a drink inside the Sazerac Bar after dinner.
Late night at Frenchman St. for live local music

Sunday:
Big breakfast - Ruby Slipper. Light b'fast - Carmo in Warehouse District
Pregame - Lucy's Retired Surfer Bar. Have a bloody mary (or two) and walk to the Dome. There isn't another venue like this in the United States so you should soak in all that is New Orleans. If you need to wet your whistle, stop by Walk On's (Poydras) for sidewalk service.
Post game - Hyatt Top bar in Benson Tower for the afternoon games. Surprisingly good food...
Dinner / drinks - Bacchanal in the Bywater. A Sunday night local spot. Grab a bottle of wine inside, then sit outside in the courtyard for live (local) music.

Welcome! now that you've declared your allegiance publicly, you must describe yourself as either New Orleanian or Whodat. Everything else, including "coon ass", yat, snu, Chalmation, Violation, or Best Banker, is forbidden.

Bar hopping is best, so either uptown on magazine uptown of Jefferson, or anything in the quarter is good.

Stanley's is good. I've noticed a decline in quality over the past three years.
