We are not cutting our present roster to 53. We are cutting as many as needed to pick up other teams cuts until we are at 53.
Plenty of talent going to get released from teams that have tons of depth that we can pick up to narrow the talent gap between starters and relief. |

Re: Roster moves
Dixon has pretty decent size for a DB, and he did flash a few times in preseason. It is hard to comprehend a rookie UDFA rookie from NW Missouri State getting a DB spot over future HOF'er Champ Bailey, but it is what it is.
Champ wouldn't have made it over the course of 19 games this year. At least Dixon is a DB that can develop in Ryan's defense over the course of the next few years. Long term investment versus very short term part-timer with a big veteran salary. Might bring Champ back later, though. |

Re: Roster moves
Wish Sam the best, but his measurables aren't that impressive for the NFL game. One can say he makes plays, though, plus the Rams are freakin' loaded on the D-Line. No way he cracks the D-line rotation here over Walker & Foster and he is too slow for a 3-4 OLB, but he could on a team that is thin on the D-Line. Only IF that team is willing to take the baggage and pub that comes with him.

Re: Roster moves
If a dude can rush the passer consistently, the coach isn't going to care if he's out there wearing a pink feather boa and singing showtunes. He just got caught in a numbers game in St. Louis.
I actually think the Saints could be a very good place for him if we were to claim him. He's a lot more developed as a pass rusher than anybody we have behind Galette. He's not an OLB but then again Galette isn't really that either. |
