I would have to look at my friend and use the phrase 'break even'. Losing money on a favor is akin to not paying back borrowed money. Failure to meet a minimum head count shouldn't fall on the caterer.

Hope it pays off for you later through new customers.

That's like booking a flight during a game... not gonna happen. Again, I should say.

All mistakes can be made once. Needless to say you'll be watching the calendar from now on.
