Shouldn't a quarterback with 6 3/4 seasons of experience in this league be able to call audibles. Opposing defenses can put 11 people on the line, and Brooks will still hand-off to Deuce. Is Brooks that dumb, or does McCarthy not give him any control?

When I criticize Brooks, this is one of my main bones of contention. He NEVER audibles. I see why Deuce would be pissed. If I can look from where I am and see a run blitz on tv or in the stands, how the hell can he not see it on the field?

I think Brooks IS that dumb, and that\'s WHY McCarthy won\'t give him control.

Where are the Musketeers when you need them?? Watch out boys, pretty soon they\'ll swoop in to show you how it\'s really the line\'s fault for not blocking all 11 guys, Deuce\'s fault for not running away from them, McCarthy\'s fault for not allowing or showing AB how to audible, and the defense\'s fault for making Aaron throw from behind. If you think AB should be able to recognize a run blitz directly at the hole to which the play is called and audible out of it after 5 years in the system and 4+ as a starter, well, then you may just have an agenda like the rest of the people on this board, and the media, and everyone else. I agree that not being able to audible is a serious problem. We\'ve all heard about Brooks\' \"intellect\", and it doesn\'t bear rehashing here.

The point about Duece is NOT that he is bad, not playing well, etc. The point about Duece when it comes to Aaron is this: if you think it is so easy to pick out what is wrong (or right for that matter) about one player in a team game, you should use the same standards to evaluate other players (it doesn\'t appear as though that can be done easily, evenly, or with any success).

Thus, if Duece is having trouble producting because the line sucks, because the defense puts us behind by a butt-load of points, because the coaching sucks, then it is reasonable to think that that is Aaron\'s problem as well. Of course, the converse is true as well.

Now I don\'t think that players can\'t be evaluated on their own, but I believe it is much harder than people make it out to be. This is a team sport (I know, thanks for the news flash, right? )

I\'ve stood it long enough, and I have to say it. This guy is a dumbasses dumbass. I believe that he wakes up in a new world every time he blinks. He looks shell shocked most of the time.

Honestly, guys, this dude doesn\'t have a clue. He can\'t audible because he can\'t remember what plays are called unless McCarthy is whispering them to him over the radio. That\'s why he panics, I truly believe that he forgets what he is told and then tries to force whatever McCarthy called regardless of the defense. If he had unlimited time outs I\'d be willing to bet that we\'d be playing 5 day games. :exclam:
