Looking at it close up it makes sense. Veteran kicker retained, QB with more experience retained. Still not sure why they even gambled with Champ, he was a longshot even if healthy.

Besides, he will likely clear waivers since it's it so late in the week, then we can always activate him from the practice squad to keep him.

Picked the wrong kicker :( even worst you waive the wrong player to get him; why not waive a injured player not going to play next week?
