Yes it was , our defense was struggling when you run the ball you help them by keeping the opposing offense off of the field therefor limiting the oppositions opportunities to score against your defense , simple football principle
We throw incomplete quick 3 and outs on 2 drives and send that terrible defense right back out there to fend for themselves again. Those two drives may not have ended in points but if they would've taken even one minute off of that clock Ingrams run would've iced that game |

Yes , but when your defense shows you it cannot stop the opposition you protect them by keeping them off the field , running the clock , running the ball
Think about it this why , picture any great defense from nfl history , I bet any amount of money those teams had a nasty rushing attack to go along with it. |

Patrick Robinson should be cut, our D line did nothing all game, tackling was pathetic (Keenan lewis especially), they kept putting Hawthorne in to cover Douglas (WTF!!!)
When we did get pressure no one could sack matt Ryan, no deep balls were thrown and jairus Byrd was still playing 20 yards deep |

Our offense wasn't fully on point, but I think it can be fixed with some twerks.

How anyone can blame this loss on anything other than the defense is beyond me. We gave up 568 yards for crying out loud. To put that in perspective in 2012 when we gave up the most yards in NFL history our worst game was 530 yards against Denver and Carolina.

This loss was on Junior Galette who couldn't get a sack on a backup lineman... This loss was on Kenny Vaccaro who forgot how to tackle... This loss was on Patrick Robinson and his ten yard cushion... This loss was on Zach Strief and his stupid penalty on an inferior defender... This loss was on Marques Colston and his fumble... This loss was on Coach Payton and his lack of discipline to run the ball... There's plenty to review, correct... |

Could it be that Rob Ryan improved our D last year with smoke and mirrors and he's been figured out. Poor LBs, average secondary and D-line equals no defense. I also agree that we should've run the ball a lot more. How many total rushes did we have?

Lets keep our frustration focused on anything other than members here and our dogs. The team lost. Regardless of how we chose to vent, none of us here caused the loss.

If we won that game I would still be screaming about the defense.
Poor run defense and repeated wide open receivers on identical crossing patters was nauseating. Drew and the offense had some rust, but man our defense looked poor. I do believe we have the talent to fix the situation. Probably good we lost to humble the team. I felt everyone was sounding too cocky!!! |

Picked the Saints defense for my $$$ League and thought Week 1 was gonna be a blowout...
And I'm not alone, Jim Henderson was calling for a ten pt win... You said it though, even if we'd won, I'd still be calling this team out for letting off the gas and all the mistakes across the board... But we're 0-1 and Payton will look in the mirror tonight... Only thing that sucks is we gave Seattle a game up today... We'll be back... |

Well our offense is back on track ON THE ROAD , Ingram looks like the heisman back we drafted , cooks looks like a stud , and when stills returns we will only get better ... On defense it can't get much worse ... Good news , we won't be covering Julio Jones , Devin Hester and Roddy White every week. Our defense will get better and we have a cake schedule ... |
