this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; PRob wasn't the problem. All of our DBS sucked today. Ryan hit 9 freaking receivers today. Focusing on Robinson is shortsighted....

I am not seeing a middle 2nd round pick on the field. That is a leagues worth of 'experts'. |

ATL may have the best top 3/4 WRs in the league. We won't face another WR corps this good all year. The next best passing attack is against the packers. Hopefully we can get our **** together by then. |

Regardless of what you may feel, what you saw today on the field of P.Rob is exactly what you saw on the field of P. Rob in the last preseason game. He plays too far off for his closing ability. He doesn't position himself to play the ball, he continuously ends up in a position where a completion happens right in front of him and he is trying to make a tackle. You saw it last week and commented on it if I recall correctly. |

Our pass rush betrayed our secondary today. If Galette and Jordan have even a decent game against backup tackles, our DBS probably perform much better |

Until Tyrunn made that sack I was prepared to write it off as maybe staying home to stop Steve Jackson, or perhaps our defense just came out flat, which are both still possible. But the second year back up LDE did what our prestigious book ends couldnt seem to do. Everyone is playing back for some reason, to me, thats prevent. It has done us wrong many times before. |

Re: LIVE OFFICIAL SAINTS VS. FALCONS GAMEDAY THREAD
I hate to tell people this but other teams will take advantage of one of our biggest weaknesses. Our linebackers are probably the slowest in the league and can't cover anyone. You typically saw our secondary getting burnt across the middle and crossing routes because they are trying to fill the huge void that our linebackers present in coverage.
Yes our secondary could've played better but when your linebackers are one dimensional and are only good against the run something has to give. If you look at other elite defenses they all have one to two linebackers that can somewhat cover. We have none. |

Lets face it, the defense sucked. Will it get better though the year? Yes. Will it get better soon enough? More than likely. One loss, 15 games to go.
