Re: I am sure the sky will be falling around here
Think about this, in 2012 colston did the exact same thing
Caught a slant pass in overtime and fumbled, only difference was Jimmy Graham recovered it in field goal range The defense played terrible, but colston had the chance to save it and screwed it up instead Settling for 2 field goals killed us to begin with but cam Jordan and galette better start playing like they are being paid to do |

Exactly. It's when he does it that really sucks, but also that amount of fumbles in that period of time is an awful lot for a WR. Running backs get the ball far more often and they are getting hit by huge men. Receivers are down field getting hit by guys who are virtually the same size as they are. There's just no excuse for that much fumbling, especially at the crucial times that it always seems to happen.

No fumble is a good fumble regardless of the time it occurs. We can't look at the last play and say "hey this is why we lost right here, this last play". There was an entire game before that fumble. Going to go back to work and eat crow... I boasted about the Saints D and we are the worst in the league. Yes, statically we will be the worst D in scoring and yards after week 1... not a good feeling. |

I dont think the stats tell the story on all of Colstons fumbles
He is often catching in heavy traffic and taking big hits while receiving, its not like Drew is scarred of putting a hospital pass into his infield receivers |

"Colston > Horn everyday of the week and twice on Sunday"... What does this mean? I'm not being sarcastic, I really have no idea what you are saying. You have your answer on how many times he's fumbles from CharityMike, so I don't need to repeat that. And also, I loved Ivory too. But a lot of people hated on him for his fumbles, even though he actually fumbles less than Colston and played a position that lends itself to such occurrences far more often. The point was that if we can't blame Colston's fumble on himself then we can't blame anyone for a fumble. He had one hand on the ball and didn't have even have it against his chest. He was swinging his arm out, which is what he always does. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Re: I am sure the sky will be falling around here
I'll end the controversay here of who to blame:
DEFENSE Seriously, Matt Ryan and Atl had the ball with 26 seconds left in the first half on their 20 yard line. Two plays later they were in striking distance, got a field goal. That's when I started to worry. Numerous WIDE OPEN receivers across the middle ALL DAT LONG. No defensive adjustments. Weak defensive scheme and poor coaching in-game adjustments (none). 2012 style tackling on the field. Sometimes 5 missed tackles. DB's looked stoned and out of position. D-line was sad at best. SAD! Colston was NOTHING compared to the non-performance of the defense. Brees? Not close. Offense had game, defense was stoned. As the game progressed we simply couldn't stop 'em. Worried? Not right now. We have the talent and coach to make adjustments. It's a long long long season. |

Re: I am sure the sky will be falling around here
I think most people are worried if we hold a lead with around 90 seconds to go. The Seahawks or a fully fit 49ers team are fans are far more confident of seeing the game out
