Positives
Plenty of good things from yesterday despite everything.
- Cooks. Yes, there is another thread on this. Not much more elaboration is needed, I will just say that he is on a fast track to becoming our #1 receiving weapon. - Offensive line. They were very good, all game long. Got plenty of push in the run game, made a clean pocket for Brees all day long. They looked like they picked up right where they left off last year. - Running backs. With all due respect to Darren Sproles, who I love, this running back rotation is going to be a lot more effective than what we've had in recent years. Mainly because you can't pigeonhole any of them. We have great balance at the position no matter which back is in. Take out the end around, we still ran it for 4.5 yards a carry. - Spreading the ball around. No forcing the ball to to Jimmy. Colston looks strong and faster than he has in a couple of years. We have better receiving options this year than last, even without Stills playing. - Special teams - Morstead was tremendous. Graham was solid. Kick and punt coverage teams were very, very good. Basically, everything except the defense was good. And even the defense was pretty solid in the first half. We would've beaten most teams in the league the way we played yesterday. We aren't going to play against an offense like the Falcons every week, in fact I think it's safe to say they are the toughest offense we'll see all year. |

Re: Positives
Cooks was tremendous for his first NFL start, looked confident and smart
Ingram ran hard and I loved seeing him lower the shoulder and plow over the defender into the end zone Offensive line as you said was decent all game I know what you mean by saying we don't play the falcons every week, but the browns erased a 24 point deficit yesterday, we can't let teams hang around all the time, I found our offense fails to answer quite abit - we really needed a TD in the 3rd quarter and we had consecutive 3 and outs Its all well and good the defensive players saying that'll never happen again but talk is cheap, galette said during the draft that the falcons LT is his newest victim - galette got absolutely manhandled days after getting a big contract, talk is cheap if you can't back it up |

The game was positively frustrating.

Re: Positives
I disagree we are exactly who we were last year, and the year before that. Nothing has changed.
The piss poor clock management fault falls on the coaches but come on its not Bree's first rodeo. I am still trying to figure out why you give them the ball with that much time on the clock. |

Positive?
Offense looks like they may have solved the sack issues of last year. Defense? i am still looking. so far the players on the bench appear to have down the best. Byrd i bet is missing all those AFC east QBs and his DB supporting cast he had with the Bills right about now. |

Re: Positives
We were flat on defense... looked tired.. We do not have a Defense loaded with bad players and there is a difference.
Personally, I know that when I see Hartsfield–Jackson on my itinerary I get very tired and lethargic. |
