Re: Saints' defense: 'That's not who we are'
If our defense does this against the Brown's we have better be prepared for a looooong season. Still they did almost come back to beat the Steelers from a pretty big deficit. So yea I can't say I'm completely confident in our defense stopping them. I am however confident our offense will bail them out once again.

Re: Saints' defense: 'That's not who we are'
After watching the Cardinals D and the Chargers D play really good D I believe the words I have been looking for is undiciplined, our D played without dicipline, we have many talented players on our D that looked lost yesterday. Seattle, San. Fran., Cards. for example play decipline football, why can't we. I really and truely don't have a clue why we can't but until we do start playing that way we just might be in for another rollercoaster ride.We should have beat the crap out of Atlanta yesterday in my opinion but failed totally on the defensive side miserably, this is a hard 1 to swallow for me because I know they can play so much better than they did.

Re: Saints' defense: 'That's not who we are'
as another post pointed out after last years bye week the defense yielded more points per game than before. why? tape is out there and offenses have spent time picking Robs defense apart. now it is Rob turn to readjust.
if the front 3 or 4 does not get it done we are hurting. |
Re: Saints' defense: 'That's not who we are'
I seen the snap count & the reason our defense played poorly was cause they were gas out. Totally def line coach fault. Why didn't he rotate those guys.

why? because we added a ton of safeties and OLBs in the off season. ILB and the DL were not addressed. plus i have been asking the same question since the middle of last year. those back ups do not look that bad anyways when they get a chance to play. It might be the old "Play the marquee players" mentality. I still say JR can not handle the work load. when he is gassed, he becomes a blocking dummy. he is a speed guy. at the end of a game you would think you would want his legs as fresh as possible. it is not his fault. that is all coaching and off season moves. |
Re: Saints' defense: 'That's not who we are'
Vaccaro 72 snaps. Played every snap on defense. Byrd substituted only twice. The only rotation that was suitable was defense tackle, if you want get pressure to the qb you have to rotate JG & CJ. They had Foster & Edabali to help fill in; need to used them

I hope not, because otherwise we are in for a disappointing season.

Re: Saints' defense: 'That's not who we are'
You can get those stats to believe anything you want to believe.
If you don't stop them and force them to punt yes the are going to be high snap counts duh. you get more 3 and outs there won't be a high snap count plain and simple. |

Kenny vaccaro never played such poorly but he playing all snaps on defense & a few more snaps on special team how do you expect him to attack the runner when he gas out. You have Bush and Sunseri with less than half of the snaps KV combine and they normally start defense with 3 safeties. |
