Atlanta -- New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram had a fiery, helmet-slamming outburst on the sideline Sunday, and later appeared to decline a post-touchdown handshake from coach Sean Payton.

Ingram scored two touchdowns in the Saints' 37-34 overtime loss to the Atlanta Falcons. He left the locker room before reporters could approach him to ask for comment.

Payton said after the game that he was unaware of any sideline outburst by Ingram.

Early in the third quarter, Ingram was seen on the sideline yelling and slamming his helmet. Tight end Ben Watson attempted to calm him down. Ingram spent several minutes alone on the sideline, pacing

What would make a reporter ask Watson about Mark Ingram's outbursts of frustration on the heels of Colston slamming his helmet to the ground on national TV in over time.

Not that Colston should have been asked instead, more along the lines of why single out Ingram and how is the answer to the question not obvious?

Payton said after the game that he was unaware of any sideline outburst by Ingram.
Sounds like speculation to me.

You may be right, but it wouldn't be the first time Payton has distorted the truth to make sure a story doesn't get drawn up

E.g saying victor butlers injury wasn't serious, roughly two hours before he was put on IR

If we want to win it all, we have to stick to the run, plain and simple. O yea and play D.

If Payton gives him the opportunity to play with heavy doses of touches, he better deliver. Or that little plan will go out out the window.

I think he can make Sean a believer if he keeps running the ball like he has been.

Of course maybe Sean just wants to piss him off then put him in the game. Lol.

Re: Teammates not concerned over Ingram outbursts

Ingram is being poorly used in this scheme. He needs the touches and Payton just isn't going to give them to him. I don't think that Ingram will be back next year regardless of how well he plays. I don't think New Orleans is the right fit for him.

Unfortunately Ingram is not the same person I thought he was at Alabama. He has a thug like mentality. And as I've said a dozen times I like my athletes to be humble like Coloston and Drew.

I wish he would have gotten more touches along with PT and Robinson, Cadet just don't have it, to predictable when Cadet is in. 3 backs make it a lot less predictable and Payton needs to keep feeding the ball to the hot hand anyway, he is a great coach but sometimes he's to smart for his own good.
