We run it for just a few yards and we kick a very makeable FG for the win. |
Re: Payton, it was on you.
It is not all on Payton, but he sure as hell isn't blameless in this mess.

Re: Payton, it was on you.
It's Payton to blame because look at the team's road record over the last 13 games. The last 5 in particular. Look at his and Brees' road playoff record overall since 2006. To get to the Super Bowl, the Saints have to get home field. To get to the playoffs and get home field, you have to win games on the road during the season. But he can't win on the road. Catch-22. Recipe for being perpetually outside looking in. We've known this since Chicago 2006. Even with the best offense in history, Payton couldn't win on the road in the playoffs.

Re: Payton, it was on you.
It would seem that some fans are not sure of what exactly they believe.
I see it as somewhat of a conflict to say on one breath that we should be less predictable then on the following breath exclaim shock that Sean Payton didn't do the normal for down and distance. Cant have it both ways.... |

All is to blame.

2013 Wild card - On the road, playoff win We can and do win away from the dome in the playoffs. Saints road W/L is 32/26 going off PTs record adding the wins and losses from 2006. We have won more road games than we have lost with Sean Payton as a head coach. Here: From Dec 13 last season. "The Saints have consistently denied that distinction, citing their 24-14 road record since 2009, the best in the NFL in that span, as proof. Re: Payton, it was on you.
Folks, you can say whatever you want. Everyone is upset and rightfully so. We have officially become irrelevant and it seems the window is closing on this team. We are not going to play in another Super Bowl in the near future. The team & the coaches have become complacent. Teams are on to us because we have nothing new or fresh to show. The defense can't find their ass. Maybe this is what you get from Rob Ryan in his second year. Loosing games this close means you can't close a game.

Re: Payton, it was on you.
With Ingram averaging 8+ yrds. a carry, 11 touches is not nearly enough. I would have liked to seen 20+ carries out of him today. Say whatever but the passing game sometimes against a stingy D just don't wear a D down enough to open the pass up. If the run is working run, if the pass is working pass. Brees throwing 40 passes completing 28 thats 12 missed passes, I wonder what Ingram and PT would do with those touches and burning up the clock. Ryan better get his stuff togather soon!!

Re: Payton, it was on you.
Remember in 2009 we played Buffalo in Buffalo? Remember what happened in the game? We could not pass the ball for anything. They were either incomplete or didn't go very far. Since Payton couldn't pass the ball he started to run. Same thing happened in that game that happen in this one. The line had a hard time protecting Brees. We run the ball down their throats. By the 4th quarter they were so gassed the could stop anything and they stop rushing Brees. Pierre Thomas got over 100yard in the 2nd half. Payton should have remembered that game. He should have done the same thing to Browns that he did to the Bills.

And this includes our GM. The most glaring holes on the team (OL, LB, DB) have not been addressed in either of the past two off-seasons. |

Lets face it ppl Brees cant carry this team by just passing anymore we have to keep running the ball ... Maybe PAyton will pick up on that.... Run the balllllllll
