It's Payton to blame because look at the team's road record over the last 13 games. The last 5 in particular. Look at his and Brees' road playoff record overall since 2006. To get to the Super Bowl, the Saints have to get home field. To get to the playoffs and get home field, you have to win games on the road during the season. But he can't win on the road. Catch-22. Recipe for being perpetually outside looking in. We've known this since Chicago 2006. Even with the best offense in history, Payton couldn't win on the road in the playoffs.

2009 Super Bowl - On the road, playoff win
2013 Wild card - On the road, playoff win

We can and do win away from the dome in the playoffs.
Saints road W/L is 32/26 going off PTs record adding the wins and losses from 2006.

We have won more road games than we have lost with Sean Payton as a head coach.

Here: From Dec 13 last season.
"The Saints have consistently denied that distinction, citing their 24-14 road record since 2009, the best in the NFL in that span, as proof. "

FWIW, the Super Bowl is not considered a road win since the Saints were the Home team.
