Yes there are 14 games left. Yes we can still win and maybe get a wildcard if things roll our way, but we've screwed the pooch on this season being special digging an 0-2 hole against cream puffs.

We had 2 games on the road last year that we blew a last second lead in (Carolina and New England), throw in the NYJ game because that was one we should have won as well, and we still came out fine last year. No win is given when we are playing outside of the Dome. We've played 2 hard road games and we've basically lost both of them on a last second field goal. We have plenty of time to turn this thing around, so I'm not investing in a paper bag yet. :whodat:

I don't think losing in the second round of the playoffs is "fine." I mean, I guess it's better than the 4-12 days but we've got a window of a year or two to win a SB before we enter full-on rebuilding mode. Without homefield in the playoffs, that becomes nearly impossible, especially if we play Seattle.

You're downplaying how hard it is to win in this league, especially in the NFC.

I don't think I am; it's that very fact that makes me believe we need to win now. We have a top 5 QB, two very strong RBs and a world-class TE. Once that falls apart, it's going to be a few years (at least) before we're able to field such a team again.

To waste the opportunity is not fine, in my humble opinion.
