this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Someone tell me, do we control our own playoff destiny (scary enough) if we win out, or will Carolina win a tie breaker even if we beat them the last game?? Official answers??...

Saints 6-8, Panthers 6-8 right now. Saints @ Panthers in week 17.
If we win out, the Panthers can\'t be 8-8. |

The Panthers own the tie-breaker with us, and we own it with the Rams, who are out of it anyway with Philly and the Jets left.
If we win out we\'re in. If we lose to ATL and beat Carolina, the Panthers are in b/c we\'d both be 8-8 but they have better division and conference records. |

Playoff Scenarios
Another crazy scenario: If the Saints and Panthers lose this weekend AND Arizona wins at Seattle, the Saints are out of the play-offs.
Arizona plays Tampa Bay in week 17, both teams would own the tie-breaker in this scenario. P.S.: Even crazier: We would have to hope the Saints win and those two teams TIE in week 17. |

But yes, if we win out in all likelihood we\'re in. We have to win and Seattle must win their division and they are a game up on St Louis. Be lieve me, it\'s enough to be exicited about. |

Playoff Scenarios
I can\'t believe it is coming down to this. Just when we counted this season over and were looking toward the off season, every team that needed to lose did and WE WON!!! For once the cards went to the Saints. Man I am excited. TO all those going to the Dome this weekend let\'s make some noise and make Vick work for everything. Also, since their spot is set in stone and unchangable at this point what are the odds of the TURDS sitting out some starters?

Playoff Scenarios
I still think it\'s gonna be hilarious when both the Rams and Seahawks lose out, giving the Seahawks the NFC West at 7-9!
It could very likely happen, too. We\'ve all agreed the Rams will probably lose out, whether Bulger returns or not, as they have to face the Eagles & Jets. But Seatlle\'s been playing like warmed-over crap, too, and they\'ve gotta play the Cardinals & Falcons. I\'m not so sure they\'ll beat either of them. Three cheers for parity!
