Saints: Slow start won't faze Colston
METAIRIE, La. -- Not surprisingly, the New Orleans Saints have no concerns about how receiver Marques Colston will respond to a tough stretch to start this season.
Colston fumbled in overtime against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1 then followed with zero catches and zero targets in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns for the first time since 2008. However, Colston has dealt with both of those issues at times during his stellar nine-year career. And both coach Sean Payton and quarterback Drew Brees insisted that they will continue relying on him going forward “I think he’s been here long enough and he’s had weeks where he’s seen the touches heavy and he’s had weeks where the touches have been low,” Payton said of a common theme to the Saints’ versatile offense that all offensive playmakers have learned to deal with over the years. Marques is a credit to the game of football, not just this team. He will continue to be brilliant this year. My bet is we see him in Dallas.

Re: Saints: Slow start won't faze Colston
I have always liked Colston.
He has a great attitude to the game and his team mates and he just gets on with the job. ALL players on teams have good weeks and not so good weeks. He has been through these kind of times before and has always produced the goods when called upon. I think someone once gave him the great nickname of The Quiet Assassin!!!! Just when you think he is down and maybe losing a step or two, he then pulls out a great performance and proves to everyone that he is still the go to guy. He will be fine. I would love to see him light up the score board against Dallas. GEAUX COLSTON!!!!!! GEAUX SAINTS!!!!! |
