i called a radio show saterday night it was on sporting news radio i think but anyway. i asked the question what would it take for the saints to make the playoffs. he laphed at me aand basicly said it would take a mirical and did not even anser my question. i hope i get to call him back and say whats up now bioch hahaha now .

...sure there are other combinations, but I think the clearest is:

Saints win last 2 games.
Rams lose one more game.
Seattle wins one more game.

Actually, it\'s that simple. Sort of.

Saints win last two games. And pray that Seattle doesn\'t split their last two games while St. Louis beats the Eagles and Jets on consecutive weekends. That\'s it.

Seattle leads the NFC West with a 7-7 record, and holds the head-to-head tiebreakers against Carolina and New Orleans, while losing the tiebreaker to St. Louis. Three teams (New Orleans, Carolina, and St. Louis) are currently tied for the last playoff spot with identical 6-8 records. The Panthers are currently in at the last playoff spot by virtue of their earlier wins over both the Rams and the Saints, giving them the tiebreakers against both. The Saints hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Rams due to their victory in St. Louis...therefore, the Rams cannot get a wild card spot with the same record as either Carolina or New Orleans, which would happen should all three win out. This cannot happen, however, because Carolina and New Orleans play each other in the last week of the season. The three teams will not end the season tied. St. Louis may end the season tied with either New Orleans or Carolina, but would lose the tiebreaker with both. Beat Atlanta this week, and Carolina next week, and the Saints would have a better record than the Panthers, eliminating any tiebreaker consideration there, and would at worst be tied with St. Louis, with whom they hold the tiebreaker edge. However, there\'s a possible fly in the ointment.........

There\'s a nightmare scenario for Saints fans that can take place even should they win four straight to end the season at 8-8. Sure, that would eliminate the Panthers from consideration, and even if the Rams defeat the Eagles and then the Jets, the best they can do is tie the Saints, right? And lose out on the tiebreaker? Well, not so fast, my friend...LOL. What happens if those things occur, and New Orleans and St. Louis both end up 8-8....but the Seahawks (they\'re the fly, by the way) split against Arizona and Atlanta to ALSO end up 8-8? Yikes! The Rams beat the Seahawks twice this season...St. Louis would win the NFC West, leaving the Saints tied with Seattle for the last spot..and out of luck, due to the loss at the hands of the Seahawks in Week One. Should the Rams win out and Seattle lose BOTH games, however, the Saints are in the clear if they win out as well...the Rams win the West, and the Saints take the last Wild Card (the Vikings/Packers will win the North and take the first Wild Card) by virtue of having a better record than both Carolina and Seattle.

Now.......did I say something about \"simple\" before I started all of that? LOL

Just simply pull for the Saints and Seahawks. The Rams will definitely drop at least one of two, but probably both.

You got it all laid out. (Unless of course there are several 7-9 teams and no 8-8 teams, which would be a statistical mess.)

I think the Rams lose at least one and the Hawks win at least one. I think the Saints are in if they take care of business. What we really need is a Tampa win this weekend to take Carolina out of it so they won\'t have their A game on the 2nd. I think they will beat us if it is a true play in game. They are tougher than the Saints and know how to win in a playoff environment. They\'ve had our number lately....
