He played in every game in 2012, but was placed on injured reserve in 2013 and waived with an injury settlement. The Saints had a visit set up with cornerback Derek Cox prior to last year but he ultimately signed a 4-year, $20 million contract with the San Diego Chargers. The Saints ultimately signed Keenan Lewis, while Cox was cut after only one season. Cox began last season as a starter for the Chargers but was benched after seven games. Cox, 28, spent training camp with the Minnesota Vikings, but was cut after the third preseason game. He also had a brief offseason stint with the Baltimore Ravens, but didn't make the 53-man roster.
