Jerry Jones kisses butt of Saints organization and fans to sell more tickets or something
In an interview yesterday on Dallas radio, Jerry Jones performance was as cringe-worthy for most Cowboy fans while also a sales pitch to Saints fans - Jerry wants to see you in BIG-D this weekend Saints fans.
During a 14 minute interview with KRLD-FM, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was asked if he thought the New Orleans Saints would be as successful as they have been after suffering the setbacks of Hurricane Katrina. Jones responded with his usual Hurricane Katrina memorial:
“What a job that they’ve done, Sean and [team owner] Tom Benson down there,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM]. “It is just really one of the things, being in the NFL, that I’m the proudest of, because we really were, what I think football in the NFL really is, and that is a respite for the real heroes. And that’s the people creating the jobs, dealing with disaster, dealing with all the real issues of the world. And we need to be a little respite away from that, and I hope that we are.
“But, no, I would’ve never dreamed that the Saints would be as substantive as they are.”
"Substantive" from Jones means having a firm basis in reality and therefore important, meaningful, or considerable.
Jones went on to say he was expecting a lot of "black and gold" in the stands and that the Saints fan base travels well to Dallas which can either be interpreted as a hint or a sales pitch to get more folks on the road to Dallas this weekend.
