Goodwin injured his left ankle during the second half of New Orleans' 20-9 victory over Minnesota last Sunday. He was replaced with 6 minutes left in the third quarter by Lelito.

Goodwin did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday and was limited in Friday's practice.

Lelito filled in only at guard as a rookie, and his first career-action at center last Sunday got off to an inauspicious start.

Quarterback Drew Brees, standing in shotgun formation, was unable to handle Lelito's first snap and the play went for a drive-stalling loss.

I hope we don't start Goodwin if there is any question about his ankle. We need a good center -- and Lelito handled pass protection well. We'll be OK.

Agree, it was neck and neck all through traing camp so I doubt we'll notice any drop off at all.

I'm glad he got his feet wet last week. The butterflies have probably simmered down a bit.

Terron Armstead showed first game jitters and is now developing into a very good Left tackle, I think lelito could have the same progression with more playing time

Besides one bad snap last week, Lelito was fine... Some might say Lelito coming in was actually a improvement

PFF says so, and that snap was on Brees.

The pass blocking was certainly better and as Danno pointed out in another thread the run blocking was just as good. The guy is a mauler.
