Exactly, the porous defensive backfield was masked by the pressure last year, which we have seen NONE of this year.

No, but I am breaking out the irons next Sunday. Ill be working on my golf game while the Saints barely beat TB in a nail bitter. Then when they play Detroit ill go play 18-holes, because who wants to watch the Lions beat our ass.

Got to find something to do on Sunday until next year.

You really think Byrd played well? You must not have watched the game...if he was a rookie or 2nd string player I'd say he did ok...good? No way in hell for the highest paid safety.

The offense is finesse. Predictable. Unbalanced.
The defense has no playmakers. Thinking instead of playing. Soft overall.

Byrd was literally the only one making plays... he can't compensate for everyone.

Yep. It is still awfully early but GB, Cincy and San Fran are all looking like they will be playoff caliber teams this year. Unless we make a drastic improvement on both sides of the ball, this could get real ugly for us on the road and at HOME.

But man, we replaced Jenkins with an All Pro Pro-bowler in Byrd.... and Byrd is practically invisible. Also he missed a tackle running right at the runningback which led to an early Cowboy td. I just don't get this team. Like I said, I look at it from the top down.

Look like they did more practice on stripping the ball than tackling and they weren't good at either one. The offense couldn't catch jack shid especially Colston. Special team just plain awful,,,,I am going to say it and I hope the saints make me eat crow, THIS SEASON IS OVER!!!!

I was watching when the Saints sucked pre Mora and I will watch when we suck again. And we will suck again one day. There are always good reasons you can find to support your team even when they suck.

I didn't mind as much in the pre-Mora days and the Brooks days. The team wasn't expected to do anything so the beat-downs were expected. It is harder to watch when the team is expected to be a super-bowl contender.

Im not going to give on this team no matter what.

What has me baffled is that we are a good team on paper but just cannot put it all together. I truly think it is mental, from top to bottom. I have seen teams loaded like us not gel. Even after watching the post game presser with Payton, he looks lost.

Here is my take. We don't have an identity, we are not playing with passion, guys don't know what their jobs are, & the team as a whole looks separated.

I expect this team to go 7-9 or 8-8. Plain and simple, this football team is just not that good and we all had HIGH hopes going into this year. Hopefully they can finish the season respectfully and give it their all.

BTW, it is time to install SJB. Why draft a guy in the 2nd round and not give him live game reps. What the hell are they waiting on??

We didn't upgrade our O-Line this off-season or our Linebackers and we let our starting FS, starting SS, and Sproles walk. It shows now. But our division sucks and blows (us included at this point), so who knows?

The reality is that in this division we are now 1 game back and in the cellar of possibly the worst division in the NFL right now. Anything is possible.

I like your optimism, Barry. Screw the newbies. Even if we only win another 4 games this season -- I love this team -- OK, maybe not this particular team -- but the Saints are my team.

There is ALWAYS a chance to pull this season out. Will it happen, probably not -- but I'm a Saints fan -- win or lose.

AND, the Vikes just put a 40-burger on the Failclowns -- so this is a happy day. :itsgood:

What hurts is all the hype, local and national media pulling our chain. It starts with coaching of course, then if you ask me both our lines are just bad. Then how can anyone in the backfield ( both sides of the ball ) get anything done. Our team is just not what we bought into...... hype .
My opinion, we're on the downside slide now. No way we come out swinging. This team doesn't believe in themselves. But once a fan always a fan . I'm in the sinking ship too boys. Take me down with yall

You pay your QB anything he wants and this is what you get. They are always better when they are hungry, not well-fed.

Same with Graham. He played with more passion at <3 years. The boy's hands are turning to stone already.

Pete Carmichael has outlived his usefulness. Sean Payton has "Got my Ring syndrome" and hasn't been the same since. That fake punt tonight will make the "Cmon Man" reel. That should have been Drew if we were going to give it away like that.

This team is embarrassing.

Just because he made a few plays when everyone sucked doesn't make him good...he missed a lot of tackles and took bad angles. He is part of the last line of defense....just do your job

We need a serious change of leadership. The contracts we've signed over the past three years have been a disaster.

It really is odd huh...

I don't get it, but it must be the leadership. I like Payton but I think his message might be worn out. Payton won't go anywhere for a while regardless of how the team does, but I would like to see a "players coach" next time around, someone like Tomlin or Carol. Tired of seeing the team with no energy at all.
