New Orleans defensive back key to recent winning streak By LES EAST Special to The Advocate Saints cornerback Mike McKenzie tackles Dallas wide receiver Terrance Cooper earlier this season. McKenzie has played well since being traded from Green Bay. METAIRIE -- The New Orleans Saints' two-game winning streak has been fueled by their best pass defense of the season. And the improved pass defense has been fueled by the emergence of cornerback Mike McKenzie, who was acquired in a trade earlier in the season. http://www.2theadvocate.com/stories/...aints001.shtml |

he\'s 10* better than any corner we had on our roster in a long time.

McKenzie fuels Saints' 'D'
I kinda groaned when we picked him up, as I\'d heard all the nasty stories about his alleged laziness, whining, poor work ethic, etc. I\'ve gotta assume I was wrong, as I\'ve not seen any such trouble with him since we\'ve had him. It hurt somewhat to lose J.T. O\'Sullivan, but I think we ultimately made the right decision on McKenzie (he definately fit a desperate need). Doesn\'t hurt that we got him relatively cheap, given how the Packers were sick of him, and he was sick of them. Just hope he doesn\'t decide to pull another hold-out fiasco next season.
