this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I thought the 'rule' in football was tie goes to the offense? On the highlights it looked to me like the receiver had as much of the ball as the defender; even the highlight guys mentioned that! Watch Tampa Bay ...

Nah it was an INT. He got the ball and secured it before our guy stuck his hands in there. Thats atleast what I have seen so far.

I was bewildered by it, but then again I never expect anything to go the way of this team when they are playing like this right now. Thing is, they have actually done studies on how referees and officials make judgement calls like this, in games. They have examined large numbers of calls like this, and in the NFL, it is definitely true that if you are playing well and looking good, the refs will GIVE you the calls you need. If you look like garbage, then when a bang-bang judgement call comes up, they will say "talk to the hand." Best way to make these types of calls go the Saints way, is to play better.
