I never said there was no hope for the defense, and I have also said that our offense has some issues.

What you have failed to understand from day 1 is that our Defense is a whole lot worse than our Offense. To say they're both equally bad is nonsense.

And you have said on a few occasions that our offense should change what their doing to compensate for a bad defense. That is in fact saying that the defense is worse than the offense.

Our offense is one of the best in the NFL.
Our defense isn't.

No one is suggesting that they are equally bad.

I think the point is that we have over 70% of the salary cap devoted to the offense, so the defense being worse is expected. Armed with that fact, that the offense sputters is inexcusable.

This is a top down problem, but for the most part, cannot be remediated this season. We are who we are. And based on performance, not potential, we are a 2nd tier team that misses the playoffs badly.

We are who our record says we are ... until we start kicking some a$$ and taking names. Until then, we are wanna be's.

However, I believe. :bandg:

And, I believe in us, this season.

One can only imagine what this offense would be like if Brees would be on a Tear...

Nice words but until you prove it it's just words like a politician.

The statement below explains a lot about why they loose to teams like the Jets & the Browns. Maybe they should consider ever opponent as being tough and bring your "A" game to every team you play. Stop playing down to the level of the weaker teams.

DB: We've played in games where you've built up the opponent so much then you went out there and it was a little easier than you thought. And then there are those teams where you felt like this isn't that other team and yet you had a tougher time with them

Saying the defense bears the majority of the blame is not saying "there is no hope." If you can't see the strawman in that equivocation then I hold no hope for you.
