We are in 2nd place after the bye week.

Wow, as crappy as we have been playing, I didn't see this:

South W L T PCT PF PA Home Road DIV PCT NFC PCT AFC Streak
Carolina 3 2 1 .583 141 157 2-1 1-1-1 1-0 1.000 3-0 1.000 0-2-1 Tied 1
New Orleans 2 3 0 .400 132 141 2-0 0-3 1-1 .500 2-2 .500 0-1 Won 1
Atlanta 2 4 0 .333 164 170 2-1 0-3 2-0 1.000 2-3 .400 0-1 Lost 3
Tampa Bay 1 5 0 .167 120 204 0-3 1-2 0-3 .000 0-4 .000 1-1 Lost 2

I really hope we can rebound after this bye weekend. FAITH, WHODAT:bng:

I've been pointing this out for 2 or 3 weeks now.

I get no respect.

With all due respect Danno, you prob did point out the division is sh!tty and we have a chance at a nice run. The only factor was hoping that our adversaries would blow it, which they have. Having said all of this, show some damn respect people :D

tallest of the seven dwarfs syndrome

9 or 10 wins will win the division
alas, a tie is not a win

After the way the bucs lost, I feel better about our chances.

Carolina's next game is @ Green Bay
Atlanta's next game is @ Baltimore

They both probably lose those games...

If we can play well on the road (I know, that's asking a lot >.>) we could be first in the division next week.

If we can play well on the road? That's a very big "IF"!

But, hey, you never know with our team. Lets hope the bye week has done them good and they come out all guns blazing!

GEAUX SAINTS!!!

Well, if there's any team you want to play on the road in order to get your heads back on straight, it would be the Lions, who traditionally lose games they should win, at home (see Wk #5 vs Buffalo), :).

It's gonna' be interesting though ... Detroit's defense is being touted as the next best thing since sliced bread, but they haven't really played anybody of note & the offense is seriously underperforming. New Orleans is going through a bit of a rough patch with some mediocre performances of their own, but coming off a win & a bye week, so maybe they turn it around, eh?

I'd like to think Detroit beats the Saints on a level playing field, but IDK ... I'm kinda' of the opinion if the Lions win this one (and there is a chance), it's more due to the Saints doldrums than the Lions actually being a team of destiny, :).

Think for both teams it will be which version of them shows up, both teams have shown a Jekyll and Hyde mentality so far

We have not shown we can win on the road at all, championship teams win on the road

We beat the mighty Vikes and Bucs! Oh wait.........................

Look, I would be happy happy happy if the Saints got in the playoffs at 8-8. I believe they CAN turn it around and be better than that. They have enough talent. But, it's just hard to watch and get excited about this defense and Payton's refusal to have a balanced attack. Especially when the running game is doing so well and running the ball on offense is a struggling defenses best friend.

Re: We are in 2nd place after the bye week.

We're in 2nd because our division blows so bad. If not for a Saints-like kicker in Bengals clothing the leader of the South would be 3-3.

Atlanta already had their season (beating us) and are about to fade to the bottom with Tampa.

Tough games for South next week - ATL/BAL and CAR/GB.

Ours against Lions very hard, too.

Time to see if anyone wants to win this crappy division.

I feel worse.
At home, we barely beat a team that has been embarrassed twice and has one win

Yeah, well, since we aren't even at .500, the idea of a championship year seems a bit premature.

Its a must win. If we don't get right, its gonna be a longggggg season.

It sounds so easy when you put it like that, unfortunately for us as an SP led team, we have a complete melt down whenever we play a road game.

Agreed. Think about it. Not only did you make the Failclowns season by letting them beat ya' in the opener, but you'll also have the stigma of losing to the Lions, :( ... I mostly only wish that on Packer, Bear & Viking fans, :).

Saints are in a tough spot ... on the road, against a team they've pretty well man-handled as of late, slow start, et... I'd say the pressure is on them for this one.

Yep, and DET should give you a hand in London by beating the self-destructing Failclowns as well ... hang around 'til the end and see what happens, :).

That's what it's meant to say...a road win equals confidence on the road equals another NFC win equals the .500 mark. At .500, we ain't drowning but we better keep kicking and paddling hard to stay afloat. We're a better team under SP with that mentality.

"3-3 is far and away better than 2-4!" exclaimed Captain Obvious with blinding confidence.

Re: We are in 2nd place after the bye week.

The Panthers have a rough 4 week Stretch (As do the Saints) but much harder for the Panthers:
Week 7 Packers
Week 8 Seahawks
Week 9 Saints
Week 10 Eagles

I can see them losing 3 of 4 so long as we stay afloat we can be in the running!

Man, that is oogly ... Packers are getting back on track, Philly's on a roll (but who've they played besides the Whiners?) and the PEDHawks are gonna' soften 'em up & leave 'em sore for Wk #9.

Yeh I agree, this was my point last week except over a five week stretch by including Cinn. But I expected the Panthers to lose that one too, not put up 37 points.
