If you're Pierre Thomas, is it strange that you beat out a #4 draft pick at RB?

Not at all, it was obvious he was much better than Pittman from day 1 of training camp. It wasn't even close, Pittman was a bust.

But are SJB and Powell busts?

I'm not surprised 2 UDFA's are getting playing time, I'm surprised and disappointed that two draft picks at areas of obvious needs aren't.

Exactly ... probably TBD in these latest examples.

I thought it was a given that SJB was going to be a project when we drafted him. He had the physical ability but lacked NFL technique.

(I could be misremembering things)

Thats true, its just a bit disappointing that he's seen zero playing time. I would have thought he'd see at least a little playing time in certain packages.

Yes, I have been at every practice and every meeting.

I have the inside info.

FYI Payton gave the games away early. It is all part of his plan, just wait and see.

Maybe when the Saints get way up on somebody they'll put him in. Hasn't been much opportunity for that so far.

hard to say about SJB. we knew how raw he was.
Powell is all about injuries IMO. well at least i hope that is it. i hope it is not an inability to grasp the playbook

If both do not cut it that is grounds to lock Ryan out of the office on draft day or show him the door

my greatest fear on defense was we were drafting based on upside way to much not so much can the kid stay on the field and can he play football.

these two i can play the wait and see game. but they need to see the field and get some playing time under their belt.

a couple of weeks (maybe 3) he hasn't even been active, meaning we've gone with 4 corners

Didn't read the article......but just the title alone is sorta funny.

As if that should be earth-shattering news.

The Saints, who haven't won a regular season road game since Macy's was getting ready for a parade last year, going on the road to Detroit.....a team with 2 more wins than the Saints............and yet it's somehow news that the Saints would be underdogs.

To be honest, I think it's disrespectful that Detroit isn't even getting the full 3 point HFA line, last I checked (-2 or - 2 1/2, depending on where you look).

However....Saints will win this one. This is one of those "S--- or get off the pot" moments in the season. They have a brutal schedule going forward, and still have yet to win a road game.....this just sorta seems like the week. I'd hate to see what 2-4 looks like with that stretch of games they're about to have.

Exactly. Not necessarily disrespectful, but maybe more indicative of exactly where the Lions are at this season ... their early success can be mostly attributed to weak opponents ... we've this before with other teams as well.

This is a very winnable game for the Saints. If I had a nickel for every time the Lions lost a game they shoulda' won (and they should win this one if we are to believe the hype) in front of the home crowd, I'd be owning the Lions franchise right about now, ;) ... bet.

Let' hope Matt Pratar doesn't beat us with his leg & prove why we should have gone after him.

If he has another game like last week, it'll be Detroit fans beating Prater with his own leg.

You'd look good and probably do better as the Detroit Lions' owner. :p

Oh yeah, put both my kids & my ex-wife in houses & if I play my cards right, might own half the block I live on when it's all said & done, ... not too many professional athletes care to live in this neighborhood though, ;).

Graham "may" return this week... That'll help if he does: Jimmy Graham returns; limited in Saints practice - NFL.com

Their career YPC averages are equal at 4.3ypc and Reggie is definetely a slightly better receiver.

Wouldn't surprise me if they did just that to decoy the Lions' defense for a series or two before they figure out he's just running routes.

Payton be tricky.

Kind of like on Josh Hills long touchdown pass; Graham ran the out and cleared the safety and corner, Hill hit the seam for the easy touchdown...
