Call me an Optimist
Hello fellow who dats. I tend to not post on here too much and prefer to just read, but I felt like posting today after this loss. Before this game I had a feeling that we would get a good idea of what the rest of our season would look like based off this game, and I actually am encouraged by this game compared to the games earlier this season.
I felt that for playing against the number one defense on the road that our offense played fairly well, especially with losing our two off our o-line for a time, Still out for a series, PT looking a little shaken up. Our run game was not great, but I expected that running against that line was going to be difficult in the first place and expect it to only get better as Ingram works to find his rhythm after being injured. I know everyone is upset about the INT, but other than that Drew played well in my eyes for having the D-Line in his face the entire game. The defense played much better this week compared to previous weeks and if not for one terrible decision by Corey White and a questionable PI call the game was in our hands. Yes it was bad and if he had just tackled Tate it would have never happened, but it did and we will live with the consequences and continue to improve I believe. Overall there are still negatives that we can all point out with the play-calling, receivers, etc. But I overall feel like the team looked better this weekend than in previous weekends and saw some glimpses of what this team can become. We are not out of the division by any means and I will continue to cheer for this team no matter what. WHO DAT. |
Re: Call me an Optimist
Welcome back. Thanks for adding a dose of sanity to our evening.

Re: Call me an Optimist
We played better than the other teams in our division and we're 1/2 game behind the Panthers.
Several mediocre teams have proven just making the playoffs can result in a Superbowl victory. |
Re: Call me an Optimist
The funny thing is, we are still second in the Division; one game behind the Panthers...

Re: Call me an Optimist
The sad thing is we have to keep reminding ourselves who else lost because we can't win a game to gain any type of lead in the division.

Yeah Mitch, I remember. Problem now is expectations are higher because they should be.

Re: Call me an Optimist
I think it is important to remember that we are watching humans playing a game and not machines. Mistakes happen, but how we address those mistakes and recognize them is what will define the character of this team. We as fans are allowed to be critical of the players we admire and look up to, but we also should continue to show our support for our team.
Like I said earlier, I am optimistic about the rest of the season based on the improvements I saw in this game compared to previous weeks and recognize that our leaders can admit their own mistakes. We will improve and we will be the Saints we know we can be. WHO DAT |

We can not keep passing up opportunities to take control of the NFC South
