Doesn't the home team typically get 3 points for being at home. That would mean we are essentially a home dog. I could be wrong...not part of the betting game anymore.

Yeah, something like that. The Saints would probably be 5 point dogs in Lambeau.

I'm tired of sniping today.

Let's just say that bookies are hoping someone is stupid enough to take the Saints giving ANY points, because the line is going to shift hard by the end of the week.

Any of you out there SUCKAS?

Vegas also has picked the Saints to win every game I believe as well.

We should be favored. We're the better team in the Dome.

Not exactly,

Their defense is 9th in points per game, and we're 28th.

Their defense is 19th in yards per game and we're 21st.

Their defense is quite a bit better than ours.

And their offense is 4th in PPG, ours is 10th
Their offense is 25th in YPG and ours is 2nd (we get mo yards!)

I'll eat my socks if we win this one. I don't believe we have a chance and it may be a blow out by the Packers.

I wouldn't say that. This team is like the old Saints. Can't bet on them or against them. You just don't know who is going to show up. I could honestly see it going either way.

Looks like I was wrong!

GB defense is 31st in rushing yds though - please don't tell me we're 32nd.

They suck at defending the run, but we don't emphasize that so what does it matter?

The weak link in this game is Aaron Rodgers versus our pathetic defense. He's on fire.

Go ahead and pick them out now. We're winning.

Just wash 'em first, okay? I don't want to see anybody getting sick.

Time to give Ingram and Robinson plenty of the ball. Robinson looked great against Vikings and Cowboys. He might be able to exploit the Packers' D.

Edit - just read Thomas is out for 2-3 weeks :(

Socks?
Boil them in a chicken broth to enhance the flavor.

I am here to remind EVERYONE the last time the Pack won a game in the Dome was a Farve vs Bledsoe Superbowl.

I'm hoping the best QB in the game (my .02 cents) has an 'off night'.

They've actually been much better against the run the last three weeks. Gave up just over a hundred yards rushing to Minnesota and Carolina but most of those yards were garbage time after the game was well in hand. Also did a very good job against Miami outside of one scoring drive and a terrible job stopping a read option play where Tannehill broke off like a thirty yard run.

Agreed on Rodgers though. Manning, Luck and Rivers might be getting headlines but Rodgers is playing nearly as good right now as he did during his 2011 MVP year. Plus he hasn't really had to throw it a lot lately and been able to sit out the fourth quarters against the Vikings and Panthers. To say he's as rested as a guy can be after seven games would be very accurate. Going to be a REAL test for the secondary this upcoming Sunday night.

Guess the question is: Is our play-calling coach as smart as we think he is? We do have Ingram back.

Aaron Rodgers is going to carve the D up

It will (once again) come down to turnovers and how many times our offense fumbles or throws interceptions

Brees will likely throw 2 picks regardless.

But neither have anything to do with the defensive side of the ball. Thats where we'll win or lose this game. Our offense should score in the high 20's, low 30's.

Re: Saints are favored against the Pack Sunday Night

No way we should be favored. If I was in Vegas this weekend I would consider this a lock if I was not being a bias Saints fan.

Truth is we should lose this game by double digits. I just dont have faith in the leadership (coaches and players) of this team to turn it around.

SaintsBro 10-22-2014 09:50 AM

Re: Saints are favored against the Pack Sunday Night

Payton and the Saints' streak of 13 straight prime-time home games is on the line. And 16 of their last 17 home night games.

It will really be more about that -- whether we as fans can continue to rely on the dominance of Drew and Sean and the gang at home, under the bright lights, on a big stage, more than it will be a verdict on the whole season.

We could easily lose Sunday and still be in the same exact situation we're in now, where everyone else keeps losing and limping along, and we're still in the hunt in a battle of mediocrity in our division and conference. So I'm not stressing out about scenarios or tiebreakers or who is doing what in the division, AT ALL, until another month or so goes by. I just want to see if Payton and Brees and this team still have it in them to put on the three-ring football circus that we know and love.

LSU will probably lose to Ole Miss, and most folks will just keep drinking straight through....win or lose in Baton Rouge on Saturday, the Dome will be riotous and rocking on Sunday, for sure. And a marquee matchup in prime time, with Halloween starting to creep in to Bourbon Street and the Quarter, lots of visiting cheese heads -- it doesn't get much better than that.

I'm looking for ENTERTAINMENT. I want to love this team again. I'm ready. I don't think I've been this pumped about a home night game since the Steelers in 2010, and that was a game for the ages.

I put money on the Saints to win the Superbowl and the division every year. People think I am too critical and I'm not a true fan but I 'put my money where my mouth is'.

I am not out of it yet!:)

If any team's offense plays perfect, they win... You must have defense when things don't go perfect on offense. And since this game is played by humans, you don't get "perfect" offenses

Rogers is going to abuse our defense, sorry. It would be different if we could get some kind of pressure on him, but we know that answer.

However, in a shoot-out I like the Saints in the Dome, providing the O-line doesn't have Brees running for his life.

X factor will be Cadet and Roll Tide. If we can somewhat limit the big plays from A Rodgers/Jordy Nelson, we will be ok. Pressure is the key.

Green Bay's defense can be had.

Mardigras9,
I hear you loud and clear on Rogers but as you eluded to earlier, the key is pressure. Our D actually improved last week and I saw positives (rush D/Lofton was extremely productive). The occasional blitz from C White was effective. Cam and Gallette MUST step up in a big way.

I do think this Saints team will rise to the occasion in prime time.

At least Terry MacCuly (sp) and crew aren't refereeing this game.

Re: Saints are favored against the Pack Sunday Night

If we bring pressure Rodgers could have a bad day. Sometimes he is holding on to the ball too long. He would rather take the sack than have an incomplete pass and ruin his precious QBR.

Sixth against the pass and a run defense getting better each week. Meaningless yards given up after they were blowing out Minnesota and Carolina. Miami did next to nothing outside of a few plays. Oh and they have a +10 turnover differential, which leads all of football.

It's like some people tuned that team out after week one and don't see they are getting better every week, offensively and defensively.
