Report: Pierre Thomas out 2-3 weeks with shoulder injury
Posted by Michael David Smith on October 21, 2014, 6:27 AM EDT pierrethomas AP Saints running back Pierre Thomas suffered a shoulder injury Sunday that may sideline him. Thomas is expected to miss two or three weeks, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The shoulder injury took place during Sunday’s loss to the Lions, a loss that was costly for New Orleans on the injury front: center Jonathan Goodwin suffered a leg injury, defensive end Glenn Foster had a knee injury and nose tackle Brodrick Bunkley had a head injury. The versatile Thomas is third on the team in rushing with 133 yards and third on the team in receiving with 26 catches. The 2-3 week timeframe would put Thomas out for Sunday night’s game against the Packers and next Thursday’s game against the Panthers, as well as possibly the following week’s game against the 49ers. https://twitter.com/hashtag/Saints?src=hash |

Re: PT Out 2 to 3 weeks
Common sense would be to feed Ingram and Robinson. So, Cadet will see 75 percent of the snaps.

Re: PT Out 2 to 3 weeks
Good thing Green Bay's rush d is turrible.
Rest up PT we'll need you for the division run! |
Re: PT Out 2 to 3 weeks
It looked a lot worse than just a 2 or 3 week sideline...
|
Re: PT Out 2 to 3 weeks
No worries, feed Ingram (10 carries for 16 yards) beastmode, lol.
|
Re: PT Out 2 to 3 weeks
Well, Ingram should be rested. He just had like 4 weeks off.
|
Re: PT Out 2 to 3 weeks
Ingram and Robinson can make up the slack in rushing touches, though neither of them are as dependable in the pass game or ball security than PT.

****!

Re: PT Out 2 to 3 weeks
And this is exactly why you don't overdo it with PT. He's just not built for the extra touches.
I think the plan all a long with PT was limited touches and we'd have him healthy for 16 weeks plus the playoffs. Unfortunately our crappy start combined with Ingram's injury forced us to use Mr Reliable a tad too much. |
Re: PT Out 2 to 3 weeks
Its not like we are making a playoff run so we don't need him that much

Also, 118 attempts and he's rocking a 4.7 yard per carry. Not too shabby. If you were being sarcastic, I completely approve. |
Re: PT Out 2 to 3 weeks
In my opinion we really miss Darren Sproles. I liked Strozier better than Cadet. I'm not sure Cadet has one run between the tackles. Doesn't that make us very prefictable when he's in? I hope PT recovers soon.
