So I can understand the rules,
Are we not allowed to disagree here? Even if it is civil or there is no name calling or other such nonsense? Or is there a limit to how long a debate can go on then you must move on? I would like a clear understanding of when a debate is out of line or when it has crossed the line. I don't think we will ever all agree on everything. If I disagree with someone should I just not say anything or start threads only for those who agree with me?

So I can understand the rules,
It\'s not my place to say this but I\'m going to...
The mods have to make rules to keep order here. You might not like some of \'em and you may disagree with them. But they are needed. You might not understand some of the rules but I\'ll bet ya the mods are trying to squash something before it gets started. I have NEVER heard ONE rule on here that was asking too much from any of the members. Believe me, I\'ve broken many rules on here and learned the hard way. Sometimes in the heat of the moment things seem unfair. But, after a cooling off period thinks seem to make more sense. What makes this board better? 10,000 Aaron vs. Jake threads or some new discussion. I mean, would you watch SportsCenter everyday if they discussed the same topics over and over and over? I think not. That\'s all folks... :P |
So I can understand the rules,
I am not questioning the mods rules, basically I was wondering why JOESAM closed the thread he did. i would never question the rules, trust me. I know why they are in place and agree. But noone was being out of line in that thread and it was not a Brooks vs. Delhomme debate, it was strictly a pro-Brooks vs. not so pro Brooks debate amd I am just wondering why it was shut off. I don\'t think anyone was out of line with anyone else, except maybe very early on, which was cleaned up. I say again, not questioning the rules as i clearly stated, just trying to get a better understanding of them.

I really have no idea why Joe locked the thread. But speaking from personal experience, he\'s got a reason. I don\'t even ask anymore I just try to adjust my posting accordingly. Someone on here once told me that there are some folks how jump into the same old tired discussions over and over and over. Even though we\'ve heard them post the samethings The bottom line is it gets old for a lot of folks. I don\'t know if that\'s what is happening here but I suspect it is. There\'s 100 different things on here that no one is discussing that would be refreshing to debate. But instead we get mucked down in the same old debates. It\'s fun for a few of us but we get to where we are dominating the board with the same ol\' stuff. We\'ll I\'ll stop preaching, just my 2 cents and I\'m far from being perfect on here. |
So I can understand the rules,
I can see how that would be. Cool. Just it\'s still new for some of us and those debates may not be old to us. But I can see what you are saying.

So I can understand the rules,
Its apparent that its OK to beat optimists over the head when the Saints lose, but you\'d better not hurt pessimists\' feelings when the Saints win.
Viva la pessimisto! |
So I can understand the rules,
im not sure about blocking post or any of that but saintswhodidi it may be that all of ur post r or seem to be about brooks not being any good. maybe thats it. do u post anything else?

Those moonbeamers don\'t scare me. We\'ve got \'em on the ropes Danno. They thought they had us. But........NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. We sucker punced \'em and when we make the playoffs... they had better get some sunscreen \'cause I\'m going to blind \'em with sunshine. And then I\'m going to blind \'em with science. Let the sunshine down on me. |

Are you running for president of the club or something. What\'s the purpose? Many of us (myself included) don\'t think Brooks has played great this year. However, some of us see other problems with the offense that has greatly contributed to Aaron\'s miscues. Not all, but a lot of his miscues can be traced to the offensive line. Same goes for Deuce. And there\'s more reasons for his problems. Like the defense putting us in known passing situations. Aaron does not get a free pass. Nope!! I don\'t take posts like yours real serious because I don\'t see much objectivity in them. Don\'t take that as a knock or take it personally. That\'s just the way I see it. The only problem is there isn\'t much room for discussion with you because you don\'t want it to be. Just remember, there are a bunch of very knowlegeable folks here who can see through a lot of things. Believe me when I tell you there have been many members here who have made the same case you are trying to make and they have been much more clever than you are being. |
So I can understand the rules,
Ok,Ok,Ok, I\'ve had enough. The reason I locked the other post was that some people on here like to make threads personal. You know who you are. We went through this last year and no one wants to go through it again. You new guys are doing great and most of the older members are living by the rules too. I\'m just going to stop threads before the become pissing contests. Get along and everything will be fine!

Sorry Joe, I\'ve been on here too long today and I\'m getting carried away a little bit.
I\'m trying to stir up some dicussion while walking that fine line. Well, time to log off for tonight.... |

Now, I readily admit we have many other problems. A few weeks ago I wanted to tank the seaosn and try for Derrick Johnson in the draft. But that was before the sportscenter \"lowlights\" from Brooks and continued bad play. I just couldn\'t ignore this guy any longer as being a bigger problem than he is getting blamed for. So if anything, it has been just recently that I have gotten truly fed up with Brooks, after the Dallas game in fact. So think I am \"non-objective\" if you like Gumbo, but trust me, I have given Brooks all the opportunities I can stomach. JOESAM, I apologize to you and anyone else who thought anything I have said was getting personal with them. That has never been my intent. I guess I get upset when people accept Brooks like he is a savior at qb and he has done squat in several years as our qb. I just want so much better for this team and a mediocre qb who thinks he is and calls himself great just ain\'t it. So again I apologize. And, I have never been a guy to knock Brooks until this year. He has broken my back this year with hus sub-par to terrible play. Sorry I couldn\'t stay on his bandwagon a little longer. I just can\'t throw the rest of the team under the bus for Brooks. So I can understand the rules,
Billy, quit trying to stir things up,quit trying to walk that fine line and quit getting carried away. Just state your case like everyone else and answer back allowing others to have their opinions. Sure yours and theirs may not agree, but thats what this board is for. I just can\'t stand it when it starts to get personel between members. That alone caused more trouble last year than anything else. You\'re a good poster man and I don\'t want to lose you. Please just play by the rules.
