Observed and heard in the locker room after the New Orleans Saints’ 44-23 victory over the Green Bay Packers:

Prove it again: Coach Sean Payton’s message to his team after their best win of the season was obvious, since so many players repeated it. Just as they remained upbeat following a devastating loss at Detroit last week, they must remain measured heading into Thursday night’s game at Carolina.

Players insisted they won’t be overconfident -- and really, how could they be at 3-4? But they also said it was a big confidence boost to finally have that hard work pay off.

“It was extremely encouraging,” Saints tight end Jimmy Graham said. “Sean told us we just gotta keep hitting away at the stone, and eventually something will chip.”

I really hope last nights game is a major turning point in our season. We have a good team, just need to execute and finish.

If our defense can come together and force some punts it would make a big difference. Not that they were in any way Rodgers fault but the 2 turnovers were huge. We can't count on flukes though. Defense needs to step up and get some stops.

We can do the same to Carolina if we bring the intensity from last night into Thursday's game. Our Defense should be in Cam's face early and all day. Get to him early he gives up in the 2nd half. On Offense we can run and throw on them.

Our defense still kept giving up crazy long plays. What blows my mind is White played a good game it was Lewis that kept getting burnt

Their running game will improve with the return of Stewart and Williams. Good news that our run D is so good and theirs......isn't.

More worried about Cam scrambling; this will be a good game for Vaccaro to get back to the in the box safety role; I see us running a lot of three safety this game. I'd almost put Bush/Vaccaro in the two deep shell and let Sunseri roam around at the line of scrimmage...
