Giving up 491 yards, 400 in the air, and that's when their qb was hurt after their 1st drive in the 2nd half, doesn't indicate that this defense is any better.

3 consecutive red zone drives all ending with very perplexing playcalling does not mean that this offense is any better.

GB was the worst ranked defenses against the run, so we should have had no surprise in success, but I held my breath on so many occasions as passes that should have been defended were actually caught; those passes usually wound up in the wrong hands in weeks past. There was very little separation for our receivers, yet again, and the next few weeks feature pass defenses as good if not better than GB's.

That onside kick was comical, and so, so lucky that we recovered.

And further, when are we going to stop giving 10 yards of space to each receiver?

We were very lucky last night. GB was really good, but not lucky.

Wonder if we can get to the point where we can win without a lot of luck.

Did you not enjoy the game last night? That was the most fun I've had in the Dome since maybe sometime pre-2012.

Re: Lucky than Good

Green Bay and A Rodgers puts up those type of numbers on just about every team they play. Saints D was very opportunistic, came up with picks when the Pack became sloppy. Kennan took Jordy Nelson completely out of the game , Cam consistently beat his man off the line, Cooks showed the world why he was drafted in the 1st round, our O line parted the sea for Ingram.

We weren't completely lucky, we out played a GOOD team in many aspects of the game.
When we had the opportunity to finish off a team, we did.

Actually, no. Rodgers did not throw for 400 yards after he was "hurt". In the Packers 1st and 2nd drives of the game, Rodgers had 2 passes go for 137 yards total; other than that... and I don't know how "hurt" Rodgers was...

... you know, I was going to offer counter points to your other points, but, meh..

You try too hard to maintain your forum persona.. heed Rodgers' advice. Relax. And if this is not your forum persona, seek help.

Standards and expectations have to meet at some point. Otherwise last night was a fluke. I'm miserable because we're 3-4, not because it's my state of mind.

The Packers have been tearing it up. Highest-scoring offense in the NFC. Our offense matched them point-for-point in the first half and defense kept them from running away with it.

We made our own good luck in this game, just as we made our own bad luck against the Browns, Falcons and Lions.

Re: Lucky than Good

just take the wins when they come especially if they are ones you can kick back and enjoy.

Plus SP got out cute to boot ! this week GB coaches gotta explain all the silly calls they made in the game not SP.

Re: Lucky than Good

Its odd, we gave up 500 yards but it was probably our best defensive effort to date.

Not sure what to read into that one.
