LOL - I can see the goggles haven\'t been removed. Funny.

Let\'s look at the criticism a little. I DID criticize MUELLER, for trading Williams - something I have admitted I was very very wrong about. At the time, I was a little weary of allowing one of the 5 or so most talented RBs in the league, who the Saints had morgaged the farm to get, be traded away and replaced by a guy who carried the ball 20 times in his first season. I was wrong.

As for Turley, how\'s that worked out Billy. I\'m sure you feel vindicated b/c Turley is in the news. I can tell you right now that the play of both of our tackles is one of the weakest spots on this team - was Turley better or worse on the field? And was it coincidental that Turley got shipped out after a season in which, as player rep, he complained to the coaching staff about the conditions at USL (note, they built a new training facility after that), and said that AB wasn\'t really a leader (he went to leadership school the following offseason), and that AB hurt the line\'s play by backing out of blocking schemes (is that still a problem?)? Yeah, that was a bad move.

But those personnel moves are not why I think the Saints should fire Jim Haslett. My rationale is very simple and as mush as you want to try and twist things, it remains the same. Shall I explain again?

With more talent than this team has ever seen, Jim Haslett has gone:

9-7, 7-9, 8-8, 7-8. The major areas of need in 2001 are the same as they are today - MLB, DT, CB. The tackles are a problem, why, because both LT and RT are different than they were three years ago. He also has lead the team to some impressive stats - wanna hear \'em? 1 of only 6 teams in NFL history to start 7-2 and not make the playoffs. In the final three games he lost to two last place teams, one of which was winless. This year\'s defense might not set NFL records, as it was on pace to do previously, but it is undoubtedly the worst in my lifetime. He\'s revamped the defense twice and now has given them two years to \"gel\" without any major injuries on D this season. That\'s enough, without any talk about which players he did or didn\'t keep and who the QB is.

Now Billy, oh wise one, please enlighten us all on why Haslett deserves to stay.
