Too much optimism
I guess the sunshiners are out in force. The poll topic shows almost everyone thinks the Saints are going to win this weekend. While I'd love to see that happen, I disagree, and here's why.
1. We haven't beaten a good team all year. 2. Carolina plays two notches better when the season is on the line (i.e. the last 2 months and the playoffs last year). 3. Our guys are riding high after last week's victory over the Vick-less, Crumpler-less Falcons. That means a letdown this week. 4. Brooks will be trying to outdo Delhomme, meaning stupid decisions from the QB. OK, Delhomme will make some stupid decisions too, but his team will bounce back from his mistakes, while ours won't. Here's to me being wrong, and to a better year for the Saints in 2005! Happy New Year! |

Too much optimism
There\'s no such thing as too much optimism. As long it\'s coupled with some good ol\' common sense.
Realistically I think the Panthers should win the game. They are a better ALL AROUND football team. Better O-line, better defense and... so far ... a better running game. There receivers are as good as ours too. Plus they are playing at home. And they\'re favored by 7-points. However, you can throw all of that out the window. This is going to be a war. A divisional game where both teams know each other very well. I think we\'ve got about a good of a chance of winning this game as the Panthers do. Do I expect us to? Not really. But, I wouldn\'t be surprised. |

Too much optimism
I think I could be labeled as an optimist.
I prefer optimistic realist, but nonetheless I side with the optimists much more often than the pessimists. But with that being said... Can we win? YES Will we win? I think the Panthers may kill us this week. |

Too much optimism
If our offense can finally reverse the trend and score in the first quarter, even a FG or two, we should be able to keep the game close and hopefully things will bounce our way in the fourth quarter.
I\'m holding out just a little hope that the NFL is ready for its next Cinderella story in the Saints. Philly, NE, Pit, Indy are all everyone is talking about for the Super Bowl. Right now I feel like an investor buying a cheap stock, just taking a wild guess out of the blue that it might reverse recent trends and suddenly skyrocket. Everyone is overlooking us and we have nothing to lose. But at least we have a window of oppurtunity and very few injuries. There are a lot of great teams in the AFC that should have this chance but don\'t. And with the college football system, only two teams get to compete for a championship. We just have to realize how lucky we are and take advantage of what we\'ve been handed. |

Too much optimism
Gosh, I wish I had either optimism or pessimism over the game, but all I have is hope.
If Brooks et al. play well, regardless of the outcome, I will be satisfied, unless it\'s clear that the coaching staff doesn\'t deploy them well. |

Too much optimism
I don\'t think I\'ve EVER seen Brooks in a hurry-up offense.
