Drew Brees Arm Strength

Besides these passes against the Pack:

- to Kenny Stills for 41, ( correction from Josh Hill )
- to Cooks 47 yds for a TD
- to JG for 22 for a TD

In the game against the Lions, Drew Brees had a 46 yard pass to Kenny Stills for a touchdown, and, a 25 yard pass to Cadet and 23-yd and 19-yd passes to Colston.

So, in the last two games, Drew Brees has thrown 3 passes of 40+ yards AND 3 passes of ~20+ yards. And, if our receivers were better at their jobs, Drew's numbers would be even better.

Yep, Drew's deep ball is over. Game manager career for him from here on. I think Sean Payton and Drew Brees are reading these forums.

He's currently fourth in deep ball accuracy for the season behind Hoyer, Fitzpatrick and Luck.

Re: Drew Brees Arm Strength

There's never been a problem with his arm strength in the dome. It's when he gets out in a windy environment those passes get wobbly.

Brees struggles with the deep ball are more an issue of timing and chemistry with the receivers. We've seen him go through these little slumps before. Getting back in the dome and having a huge game always seems to get him right.

Re: Drew Brees Arm Strength

I am way less concerned about whether or not he can throw it, and more concerned about conserving what arm strength he has left. Running the rock the way we did yesterday is a great way to give Brees enough seasons for us to find a suitable replacement... and still be competitive. I don't think he is done by any means... just bracing for the time where he is.

BTW Cooks can flat out fly... You wanna tear Brees arm out the socket... make him hit Brandin Cooks past 50 in stride... You can see Cooks slow two or three steps to get the ball in.....

Guess what? At this particular point in time, Drew Brees quietly has the highest completion percentage in the league: 69.5.

I also want to say that I am not a Drew Brees fanatic. I have been defending him because I think that the indictments, of his ability, I've read recently here, and elsewhere, are not just wrong -- they are not supported by the evidence.

Seems to me that most people have very few problems with Brees...

You get a handful on game day, but they are in the minority.

Panthers do not have a fast secondary

If Brees gets some time I hope we take some shots down field again.

It's just people put blame on the wrong players when they don't understand... I hope everyone understands now that when Drew is under throwing, it's usually because the O-Line is not giving him the room to step-up in the pocket.

I think the main issue was his injury earlier in the year. Seems like since the bye he has been throwing better.
