:casstet: Apparently I WON\'T be watching the game ... AGAIN! Stupid Birmingham television people are convinced everyone in town must be a Falcons or Titans fan, so that\'s about all we get here EVERY WEEK.
Looks like I\'m getting gems like the Falcons/Seahawks, Steelers/Bills and Colts/Broncos. And I\'ve just gotta fire up the TiVo for what will no doubt be a riveting contest between the Cowboys and Giants. Sheesh. At least they\'ve finally determined that the Titans are insignificant. NFL.com and little moving helmets, here I come again!!! |

Mutineer, I feel for you. I was in Bears land the last couple of years and it seemed like I had to watch the Bears play the Lions every week (though I did make it to the 2002 game in Champaign where my man Sammy Knight picked off a pass to seal the victory...). I spent a lot of time clicking the \"reload\" button on my browser the last couple years, waiting for the helmets to move on the screen. Watching the game like that really makes you appreciate how long the commercial breaks are, not to mention the replay challenges.
This year is a little better. I\'m stationed in Japan where I get the Armed Forces Network. I get the best 3 games available each time slot, which is nice, at least now that the Saints are contenders. The downside is kickoff is at 3 a.m. local time. I don\'t know if I should get up at 3 or sleep until 4:30 and just watch the second half. But hey, if it wasn\'t painful it just wouldn\'t be Saints football, now would it? |

Rich006, thanks for being another of our Saints fans out there serving and protecting the rest of us. Stay safe and come home soon.
Yeah, the game not being on here is ridiculous. It\'s arguably the most important NFL game of the day ... and instead of it I\'m getting those games I listed, most of which are relatively insignificant and are gonna look like preseason games. It\'s sort of a slap in the face. Stupid Atlanta-worshipping Birmingham TV program directors... :mad2: As for \"da Bears,\" my job sent me to Chicago in January a couple of years ago, when they played Philly at Soldier Field in the playoffs. I didn\'t have tickets for the game, but was planning to check out the Field Museum that day. I ended up wandering around the tailgate parties, talking football and picking up free beer and brats everywhere I turned. The Bears\' fans are some of the NFL\'s best, very friendly and sociable. Wasn\'t much in shape to hit the museum by kickoff, but I had a great time anyway! |
