Re: Two 4-4 teams
Stock watch: Falling: Niners offensive line. For the second game in a row, the Niners' big uglies played like it. They gave up a career-high eight sacks of Kaepernick, who has been sacked 14 times in his past two games. The Rams entered the game with six sacks on the season and were shut out by the Niners three weeks earlier. But in the first half alone, St. Louis sacked Kaepernick six times to double the Rams' sack total. True, the 49ers were breaking in a rookie center making his NFL debut in Marcus Martin, after Daniel Kilgore was lost for the season on Oct. 19 at Denver with a broken left ankle, but 14 sacks in eight quarters? Brutal.

Re: Two 4-4 teams
They have a good defense -- but we played well against the best defense in the league ( at their house ) and lost by only 1 point. By the numbers, we are ranked in the top third of the league in passing yds (3rd), rushing yds (7th!), and opp rushing yds (10th).
Our secondary, this season, has been bad (28th). But, we gave up only 122 yds thru the air against Scam. And, we intercepted Rodgers x2. So, I'd say even in that category (opp passing yds) we are on the mend. Kap and his O-Line suck. Same game plan as against the Panthers should do it. Keep Ingram on the field and nice job O-Line!!! |
Shutdown defense in 2017 = Championship!

Re: Two 4-4 teams
This is a grudge match. They ruined our SuperBowl hopes AND injured PT. We need to hurt somebody ( Vernon Davis would work for me ). And, I'm a hippie pacifist, so yeah, I'm still pissed.

Re: Two 4-4 teams
Sounds like they have major issues on their o-line and our pass rush has been pretty great the last couple of games. Plus crowd noise in the dome. I could see Cam and Junior going nuts. And they love to run the ball, but we're playing really well against the run and did a great job against Gore last year.
I see this as being a potential huge game for the defense. I think last year we held them to like 220 yards or something crazy low like that. |
