Re: Saints Midseason Report Card: Offense
I agree with the grades; every position a B except running back with an A!

Re: Saints Midseason Report Card: Offense
Pretty fair,
Offense B's Defense C's I'd probably give the defense a worse grade since 5 of their 8 games were terrible. |

Re: Saints Midseason Report Card: Offense
Quarterback Grade: C
Sorry but by Drews standards this has been a down year. Running back Grade: B Everyone has stepped up this year Wide receiver Grade: D Very disappointed in this group as a whole so far. Cooks has not proven he was worth moving up to get. YET Colston appears ready to be put out to pasture. Stills is a drunk prom date. one minute there then gone for long stretches The others? who are they again? oh yeah Mechem and who the or what the bench warmers club. so far total waste of roster space. except Robert he can block like nobodies business. How about some stick'em all around? Also the route running is really poor this year. all the new faces maybe. Tight end Grade: B Once again everyone has stepped up this year. though i would like to see better blocking out of this group Offensive line Grade: B I could go lower but I am surprised by their level of play. I think the gelling has started Time is still needed to get this unit to gel. Pass protection is getting better but they are still not functioning as a unit so well. it is getting better but inside protection has plenty room for improvement as a unit. sliding and passing off IS still A WORK IN PROGRESS RT now appears to be an issue with speed rushers. They can not get around the left side as much so they are moving speed over to right and bull rushers to left. this is showing to be an area of concern against playoff caliber teams IMO. so RT is moving up on my off season needs list. Rushing game appears to have turned the corner after the two year roll over period to zone blocking. Ingrams performance is testimony to that. Mark has to be the happiest camper when he is on the field. finally a blocking scheme that matches his skill set. now he has stay on the feild. Health wise and number carries. or better put series not play packages running on and off the field during a series. rest him for series if need be. OL always takes time to gel. As whole the Offense gets a grade of C+ Defense gets an incomplete so far. their play as a unit is just that incomplete |
