San Francisco 49ers star outside linebacker Aldon Smith's nine-game suspension for violations of the NFL's policies on substance abuse and personal conduct is not expected to be reduced, according to a report.

"Let me be very clear! @AldonSmith complied with EVERY guideline and all rules," Doug Hendrickson, Smith's agent, wrote Tuesday night on Twitter. "(He) was exceptional in the community. More to come."

If the NFL were to reduce Smith's suspension it likely would have occurred on Tuesday. Smith is not expected to be eligible to play against the Saints this Sunday. ESPN's Ed Werder cited a source who said Smith would not be reinstated early.
